Donna Pickering is married to a retired naval officer and they have one son. As the daughter of a navy veteran, she was born in Japan and later had the opportunity to live there twice, once when she was single and on a mission for her church and again when her husband was transferred there with the military.

Donna is a former massage therapist and dance instructor and has always been somewhat of an adventurer at heart. She homeschooled their son through the 7th grade after teaching him how to read on his own by age three. Throughout the years, they’ve traveled through nearly every state, stopping at historical sites for school field trips and hands-on learning experiences.

Donna has also taught various classes in community centers and homeschool groups and has a wide variety of interests and experiences of which she plans to write about in the future.
